Visual Arts Biennial Beerse is a group consisting of staff from the cultural and communication department of the municipality of Beerse (BE) and two artists from the region. Every two years, they organise an open air exhibition of (mainly) three-dimensional visual art from national and international artists.
Apart from the exhibitions, a series of parallel activities take place (creative workshops for children, contests, etc…).
Up till now, the event has had a regional dimension, reaching public mainly from Belgium and the Netherlands. Aim of the organisation is now to enlarge the project, searching for European partners under the Culture Programme in order to enhance a long-term and intense exchange of participating artists with other partners and to realize an exchange of art movements between North-Western Europe and other European regions.
