Projekt: PÉTROS. Lithic languages and cultures: Research, documentation, exchanges, exploitation.The project consists in a programme of activities aimed to research, documentation, exchanges and exploitation of the cultural expressions of stone, in sites where the material has continuously represented the absolute protagonist of the landscape and the common denominator of the civilizations that have followed one upon the other.

In these places that identify themselves with stone, human being adapting himself to the available geo-morphological resources, has shaped stone in several different ways, showing such an expressive variety and generating a proper “culture” of the use of stone during centuries.
The activities that will be carried out within the project are: surveys, studies, cataloguing, databases, issues, conferences, exhibitions and a web site.
