The project addresses common challenges recognized by the partners: how to better integrate cultural heritage in the community and engage different audience in its exploration within the European context.
REFRESH Heritage Weeks are the key project feature. A series of 7-day events will bring together young artists from Slovenia, Italy, Romania and Spain. Inspired by the local cultural heritage sites and selected cultural events new cultural contents will be co-created with the purpose of making the heritage more visible and attractive to the existing and new audiences. Undiscovered historical sites shall be promoted as a venue for innovation, creativity, unusual events and a space for new creative and learning opportunities for young artists. REFRESH Heritage Weeks will not only support the co-creation between the transnational and local artists, but will strongly engage the local audience, especially the children and the young.
Over 21 months, 8 REFRESH HERITAGE WEEKS will be organized, engaging 48 young artists in the creation of 8 new arts products. App. 560 audience members, of which at least 160 young will participate in new cultural contents and at least 1600 indirectly through dissemination activities, what will contribute to increased awareness and understanding of the European cultural diversity. A community of young artists from four participating countries will be formed and supported. Partners and local cultural organizations will strengthen capacities for transnational cooperation, cultural heritage promotion and audience development.
