A theatre company Myllyteatteri, Finland, is looking for partners to work in a project based on Divina Commedia by Dante Alighieri.
‘Divina Relay’ Theatre Project
BACKGROUND
‘The Divina Relay’ will continue the ‘Divina Commedia’ theatre project lead by the Myllyteatteri in 2011-2012. It was created by stage artists and producers from Finland, Portugal and Greece to transform Dante’s Divina Commedia, a common European cultural corner stone, into stage performances in different locations.
THE GOAL OF ‘DIVINA RELAY’
‘The Divina Relay’ will deepen the theatre language created in the former project. It will also develop the work on themes and artistry of Dante’s Divina Commedia with a pan-European group of artists.
‘The Divina Relay’ will combine the associative imagery of artists based on Dante’s classic and will find ways of performing a journey from a crisis and out of it. This is done in workshops of the artistic group and between the artists and audiences around Europe. The project will focus on intensive working periods in artist residencies, and the performances will tour around Europe.
