The DG EAC of the European Commission has launched the WeAre#EuropeForCulture call for tender (EAC/27/2018).

The project is based on three of the objectives of the 2018 European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH):
(1) Encourage approaches to cultural heritage that are people-centred, inclusive, forward-looking, more integrated, sustainable and cross-sectoral.
(2) Promote solutions which make cultural heritage accessible to all, including via digital means, by removing social, cultural and physical barriers, taking into account people with special needs.
(3) Raise awareness of the importance of Europe’s cultural heritage through education and lifelong learning, in particular by focusing on children, young and elderly people, local communities and hard-to-reach groups.

More specifically, the project aims to contribute to EYCH Initiative 1, entitled Sharing heritage, history and values, to bring Europeans closer together, with the special focus on reaching and engaging hard-to-reach groups of older and younger people. Such groups include Europeans aged 55+ and 13-30, who usually do not participate in cultural heritage activities due to isolation, poverty or difficult access to education or employment.

The tenderers are expected to carry out the following tasks:
Task I – Plan and deliver pop-up exhibitions in 7 to 10 EU Member States + Brussels.
Task II – Design, produce and distribute a set of resources for each pop-up exhibition.
Task III – Disseminate and communicate project activities and results.

Economic operators with proved experiences in the fields of cultural heritage, cultural outreach, and/or engagement with older people interested in this contract are invited to submit a tender in one of the official languages of the European Union. The deadline for submitting offers is 10 September 2018, 13:00 CET, via e-submission.
