All 38 sites monitored in 2020 continue to meet the criteria for the award of the European Heritage Label, among them the Franja Partisan hospital and Javorca Memorial Church of the Holy Spirit.
The chairperson of the European Capitals of Culture Expert panel announced on 18 December 2020 that the city of Nova Gorica has been recommended for the European Capital of Culture 2025 title in Slovenia.

Over 40 Slovenian organizations supported by Creative Europe have responded to our call to provide data and information on the implementation of their ongoing Culture and MEDIA projects in the period of the coronavirus pandemic as well as on the expected challenges after it. They are facing numerous difficulties, and predict cash flow to be the key issue in the future.
The European Commission awarded the European Heritage Label to ten historical sites across the Union, among them the written poem Zdravljica. National and University Library, which holds the most important manuscript versions of Zdravljica and all printed editions, has thus become the seat of the Prešeren Zdravljica memorial site.

Ljubljana, Nova Gorica, Piran and Ptuj have been shortlisted today, 27 February 2020, in the competition for the title of European Capital of Culture 2025 in Slovenia. The recommendation was done by a panel of independent experts evaluating applications from six competing Slovenian cities at the outcome of a 2-day meeting in Ljubljana.
From 19 to 23 January 2020, Motovila has implemented a study visit of Slovenian culture and creative sectors to selected Dutch cultural organisations and venues.
