Project: MEMORY BANK-history as told by every-day heroes

The goal of the project is to make interviews with elderly people in Europe (mainly Middle and Eastern), either video or audio, depending on the will of individual persons. We look for such situations, when their lives (at their most personal level) were influenced by history. We are mostly interested in such historical moments as World War II and the years just after the War, early Communist era, collapse of Communism. We are not looking for politicians, VIPs etc., but for ordinary people, as we believe their stories are even more interesting.
The project will be presented as video, published (on web-site and paper). The collected material will also serve as a data-bank for all sorts of researchers, journalists, film-makers, etc.
